We build software that
survives contact with reality.

nodebyte is a team of senior specialists — each an expert in their field — designing, building, and operating production software across product, platform, and infrastructure for companies that can't afford to guess.

// the platforms we build on

// what we do

One team, the whole stack.

We're generalists with depth, comfortable from pixels to packets. Engage us for a single product or as the engineering arm you don't have yet.

01

Product engineering

From zero to launch and beyond. Web and mobile apps built with a senior team that owns the whole stack: design, frontend, backend, and the boring parts that keep it alive.

  • Web & mobile apps
  • Design systems
  • Greenfield & rescue
02

Platform & infrastructure

Cloud, CI/CD, observability, and the plumbing that lets your team ship daily without fear. We build platforms your engineers actually want to use.

  • Cloud & IaC
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Observability
03

AI & data systems

Pragmatic AI that earns its keep: retrieval, agents, and pipelines wired into your product with evals, guardrails, and a clear path to production.

  • LLM integration
  • Data pipelines
  • Evals & guardrails
04

Fractional engineering

An embedded senior team when hiring is too slow. We plug in, raise the bar, and hand back a codebase your people can run.

  • Embedded squads
  • Tech due diligence
  • Team enablement

// what we build

The shapes of software we ship.

Different problems take different forms. Whatever the shape, we own it end to end — from the first commit to the on-call rotation.

  • 01

    SaaS & web platforms

    Multi-tenant products with auth, billing, and dashboards that scale from your first user to enterprise rollouts.

  • 02

    Mobile apps

    Native and cross-platform apps for iOS and Android, taken from prototype to the store and kept healthy after.

  • 03

    Internal tools & admin

    The back-offices, dashboards, and ops tooling your team actually runs the business on every day.

  • 04

    APIs & backend services

    Versioned, well-documented services and integrations other teams and systems can build on without fear.

  • 05

    Data & analytics platforms

    Pipelines, warehouses, and the dashboards that turn raw events into decisions people actually trust.

  • 06

    AI-native products

    Assistants, retrieval, and agents wired into your product with evals and guardrails — not demos.

  • 07

    Real-time & event-driven systems

    Ledgers, messaging, and streaming pipelines built for correctness under serious load.

  • 08

    Rescues & re-platforms

    Untangling legacy systems and moving them to something maintainable, without a big-bang rewrite.

// ai & llm engineering

AI that makes it to production.

Everyone can demo a chatbot. We build the retrieval, agents, evals, and guardrails that turn a promising prototype into something you can put in front of customers — and trust at 3am.

  • Retrieval that stays honest

    Grounded answers over your own data, with citations — not confident hallucinations.

  • Agents that do real work

    Tool-using agents that take actions, with human checkpoints where the stakes are high.

  • Evals & guardrails

    Test suites, tracing, and safety rails so you can prove what ships actually works.

  • Model & cost engineering

    The right model for each job, tuned for latency and unit economics — not the biggest bill.

  • AI woven into the product

    Search, assist, and summarize built into your UX, not bolted on as a demo.

// how we work

Senior, calm, and allergic to drama.

A small team of people who've shipped real systems for a decade. The process is boring on purpose, and that's how the software gets exciting.

  1. 01

    Scope, sharply

    A week of hard questions before a line of code. We map the real problem, the constraints, and the smallest thing worth shipping first.

  2. 02

    Build in the open

    Short cycles, demos every week, and a staging URL you can poke from day one. No black boxes, no big-bang reveals.

  3. 03

    Ship to production

    Tested, observable, and documented. We treat launch as the start, with the pipelines and dashboards to prove it works.

  4. 04

    Hand over cleanly

    Your team inherits a codebase they can run: clear architecture, runbooks, and the context to keep moving without us.

// selected work

Software that went the distance.

Fintech

Real-time ledger for a payments platform

Rebuilt a creaking batch system into an event-sourced ledger handling millions of transactions a day, with sub-second reconciliation.

Patient platform, from prototype to scale

Took a Figma file to a HIPAA-ready product in four months, then operated it through a 20× growth curve without a rewrite.

Internal developer platform

Designed a self-serve platform that cut deploy times from hours to minutes and let product teams ship without filing tickets.

// ready when you are

Let's turn it into something that ships.

One call to figure out if we're the right team. A plan within a week. Working software not long after.

// what we believe

A short list we don't bend.

01

Own the outcome

We're on the hook for whether it works in production, not whether the tickets are closed. Shipped and running is the only done.

02

Small and senior

No layers to route your questions through. The people scoping the work are the people writing the code and carrying the pager.

03

Boring on purpose

We reach for proven tools and predictable process. Novelty is a cost; we spend it only where it buys the product something real.

04

Leave it better

You inherit a codebase your team can run: clear architecture, tests that matter, and the context to keep moving without us.

nodebyte shipped in a quarter what our last vendor couldn't in a year. They left us with a codebase our own engineers are happy to own.

// common questions

The answers before you ask.

Still unsure whether we're the right fit? Ask us directly. We'd rather tell you no early than waste a quarter.

How do we start working together?
A short call, then a paid scoping week. You leave that week with a written plan, a milestone map, and a fixed price for the first phase, whether or not you continue with us.
What size engagements do you take?
From a two-week spike to multi-quarter builds. If a project is too big for a small senior team to do well, we'll say so and point you somewhere better.
Do you work fixed-price or time-and-materials?
Both. We scope the first phase to a fixed price so there are no surprises, then move to a simpler retainer once we've built trust and a shared understanding of the work.
What happens when the engagement ends?
You own everything: the code, the infrastructure, the runbooks, and the context. We hand over to a team that can run it without us, and stay reachable if you need us.
Can you work with our existing engineers?
That's most of what we do. We embed alongside your team, match your conventions, and raise the bar without taking the codebase hostage.
Where are you based, and how do you work?
Remote-first from Tallinn, working across European and US hours. Weekly demos, a staging URL from day one, and async by default so nobody waits on a meeting to make progress.

// let's build

Have something that needs to ship?

Tell us about the problem. We'll tell you honestly whether we're the right team, and how we'd approach it. No decks, no pressure.
